Oprah, Please STFU

Please.
Just stop.
Have you any idea how tired I am hearing about your weight?
So you gained some weight back.

Jesus, you act like the world is coming to an end.
Let me ask you somethin' are you still amazingly rich?
Are you still a self made businesswoman with a scary amount of power?
Still got Stedman?
Still got Gail?
Still got the dogs?

Then STFU.
So what if you weigh 200 lbs?
I have a feeling that your body is supposed to be soft and lush and curvy.
Revel in it.

Is your self worth really based on your weight?
Hell, I think you are looking pretty damn good for a woman over 50.

Stop worrying what the scale says and live a lifestyle that makes you happy....not one you are a prisoner to.
And stop making it sound like being overweight, even obese, is something we have to be ashamed of or apologize for.
In a society that in so many ways claims our self-worth as women is directly related to how skinny we are, it would be nice if women like you would just STFU when it comes to your weight (you too Queen Latifa) and instead prove that being sexy, powerful, sucessful and happy has NOTHING to do with your BMI.

Great post by Kate Harding on Oprah and her weight gain.

Word & word. How rude. Seriously, so those of us who struggle w/ weight and fail and alternately kick ass only to fail again shouldn't be be freaking insulted by a women who, no matter what she weighs, has more money than God. And a great life, replete with anything her wee heart desires. She should be proud of herself for what she's accomplished, who she is, and what she has done (mental not to self to read what I just wrote about my OWN damn self). But seriously. Enough. Whining.

Right ON. I'm so sick of hearing her rags-to-riches schtick over and over and over...Life is SO hard when you're a zillionaire. My hearts breaks.
