The big Harry Potter news this week is that Deathly Hallows will be
split into two, yes two films.
This means lots of face time for Professor Snape...of course Rickman will be
like, what, 70?
I am doing a happy dance....even though the film will not be out until
2010.

You Rock, JKR!!!

I'm sure you already know, but Dumbledore was teh Gay!
JKR has spoken.
I always thought he was a bit too broken up about Grindenwald turning out to be an Evil Overlord Wanna Be.

In the end this is made of awesome.
Fandom has exploded.
The gay haters are all stirred up.
The slashers are unhappy that the canon gay is an old, wrinkled dude.
And there is a shiny new, huge thread over on Fandom_wank with lots of links to the wank.
This on LJ is a hoot, I am very entertained.

And it begins...

The next few weeks will be fun as the Harry Potter fandom explodes with movie wank and then, OMG!, the last book wank.
I'm gonna need tons of popcorn.

On our way out the door to meet friends for food and fun and then the midnight showing of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

There is NO bigger Potter dork out there then me, but I was so sadly disappointed (and I am never one to complain about what gets left out, except for the Snape stuff).
I kept thinking "Jesus will this never end?".
That's pretty bad.

I can't even put why I thought it was just ~meh~ into words.
It just was.

Lat 30 min was great though.
Bellatrix was awesome.
Lucius in leather....yumm.
Lots 'o Snape.
Oh, and Mack Daddy Sirus in his velvets.

But I still am just ~meh~......
I have a feeling I will be alone in my opinion since everyone we went with last night thought is was all "OMG AMAZING".

To show what a Potter dork I really am I actually went today and saw it AGAIN (yes a movie I was not happy with) and I am happy to report that on a 2nd viewing I like.
It could be that I was just too tired and old to go to a midnight movie, or that I needed to pee, or that the seats lean back and it kills my back.
I might of been focusing too much on stupid stuff left in (Garwp), added (Minerva being scared of Umbridge) or left out (hello, the screaming picture which while small added tension and emotional conflict to a flat start)....it seemed very flat at the beginning.
But I enjoyed it soooooo much more this time.
Ummmmm Lucius.

Stardust is a favorite of mine from Neil.

A way to waste time, YSL, Harry Potter, Milk and the Amazon reviews

I'm wasting time when I should be working.
A YSL jacket post on a vintage clothing board got me googling YSL collections, YSL 80's, ect.(why don't these older design houses have their previous collections online...what a great thing that would be!)
All this googling led me to Amazon and forced me to click on a Milk listing (yes milk) that I had just clicked last night from a link on fandomwank.com and read the reviews.

I had forgotten how funny they can be.
I once read a review on Amazon for a birch wood cutting board left by a Bellatrix Lestrange, resident of Azkaban in the United Kingdom, stating that the "board was nice for cutting up muggles, but can be a bit slippery".
There was the whole Anne Rice wank when she decided to write (with no paragraph breaks) a long rant against her reviewers (who are just folks who have bought her books for the most part) who said her books pretty much sucked after Queen of the Damned...which they did.
So for some giggles go read the reviews for Tuscan Milk on Amazon.

Fun Stuff and Geekdom

Over on Life of a Jersy Girl (which is the blog for Dandelion Vintage) I was reminded of my uber-geekiness. Harry Potter and the Dangerous Hallows is the totally stupid name of JK's last (weep) and probably longest Potter book.
Why uber geek?
Because I must dissect the name. Deathly Hallows. What does it mean?
My first thought was that it deals with locations. Godric's Hollow is where Harry's parents lived and died when he was an infant. Could the graveyard where they are buried
have "hallows" in its name? Deathly Hallows sounds like a wizarding graveyard. Will the final battle be fought in Godric's Hollow?
Will Snape be allowed to live?
Probably not.
Damn you JKR for your obvious Snape hate.

A 1948 Good Housekeeping along with 2 copies of "Le Petit Echo de le Mode, Hebdomadaire" 1950 and 1949. I have no idea what they say, but there are some great fashions and I think they are, I want to say, pattern magazine/newsletter type thingee.

Ymmy candy, great soy candle, beeswax lip balm (how did you know I am obsessive about lip balm?), shea butter leamongrass lotion bar (last 3 from a friend of Cim's who makes it all), some notecards with fab shoes on them, and a vintage liquid measuring glass in french.
















Warm and soft scarf that Cim's mom made, vintage clip (yea!) earrings, vintage pin, scarves and a pretty vintage stocking/lingerie holder.
