Photo Post: The last of The Summer

I know it is October, but here in Central Arkansas the summer is still hanging on by it's fingernails.
Just a few more days of 80's and then it looks like real fall might be around the corner.
I brought in the last of the Zinnias the other day and took a few pictures.

Also. TOMATO PIE. I got a hand full of green tomatoes from my mom about 3 weeks ago and just left them on the shelf and a last week they began to turn. Ate one last night, yummy as can be so I cut the rest up and made a tomato pie.
It is, as always, delish.

Roses

The rose in my last post has bloomed!
I really like the way the go from very barley pink to darker link and then to a yellow hue.
They got a bit beat up from the rain last night, but still very pretty with a lemony spice fragrance.

Garden Part 1

The garden looks great this year. I've moved the Balloon Flowers and they are very happy.

New plant this year, Rex Begonias.

Wild Smooth Petunia. They are a native plant and just grow wild in the parts of the garden that are just Ivy and Monkey Grass. The summer we moved in I was pleasantly surprised when these popped up in the yard, and while we also have wild roses and all the honeysuckle, these are my favorite.

Baby Coleus

Butterfly Bush has begun to bloom.

Gather Ye Roses....

Just a quick post.
I am out in the garden this week.
Planting seeds I got from Millington Seed Company, moving a couple of things that do not seem to be happy where they are and planting the 2 roses I got from Jackson and Perkins the other day.
They are Zephirine Drouhin Antique Climbing Rose and

Heaven on Earth Floribunda Rose.

I love roses, but don't seem to have much luck at this house with them.

More Spring

Lots of flowers poking out, though it is a bit cool and cloudy today.
More lillacs, Bleeding Heart, Ajuga Blooms, and Blueberry.
We will have a ton of blueberries this year.

That's Nico.
She has these spots in the driveway that have been rubbed down to almost sand and Nico will lay in these spot and just roll around.
Happy Kitty.
