This maybe the funniest thing ever.
We watched it the other night on The Soup*:
*BTW, The Soup's evil overlords suck. They have a "channel" on YouTube, but do not allow embedding. So if you want to see the whole clip you need to go here.

Open Tabs
My open tabs in the last week included these:
Department Stores is a fun website with lots of historical information about department stores in the US with an emphasis on the Portland, OR area.
Over on Pajiba they had one of the funniest conversations concerning dogs, vandals, spoilers and the movie Marley and Me. Be aware there are SPOILERS in the thread.

I wish I had found this Dean Martin Christmas CD before it was too late, besides the cover being super cool it has all my favorite Christmas songs done by Dean-o.
Speaking of Christmas songs, Fairytale of New York, The Pogues and the late Kirsty MacColl, still tops my list of Christmas songs.
Yes, that is Matt Dillon as the cop.
Dickipedia now has a listing for Rod Blagojevich.
"On December 9, 2008, adding dick insult to dick injury, Blagojevich was detained by the FBI and charged with conspiracy to commit fraud as well as solicitation of bribery for allegedly trying to sell president-elect Barack Obama’s vacated seat in the U.S. Senate. This happened the day before Blagojevich’s 52nd birthday. One imagines they canceled the stripper. "
What can I say? Fuck You, Penguin...."A blog where I tell cute animals what's what".
What-I-Found, a new blog from Tina who travels the country with her hubby in an RV and sells patterns with me on Mainstreet Vintage. Her new blog has oodles of vintage catalogs and vintage advertisements scans.
Hollis from Past Perfect Vintage has begun blogging about the Inauguration fashions of our former First Ladies. Great idea, great images....all I know is there is Mamie in all her pink glory and in comes Babe Paley in this.
I agree with the Sartorialist, Morris Day had a fabulous sense of style. (you have to scroll down a bit to see the post) Plus Jungle Love is one of the best songs evah!
And last but not least, Jonathan over on Kickshaw Productions has done a couple of interesting reviews on the historical accuracy of the fashions in some recent movies. Here and here.

No Context Needed

There is no fashion-forward or vintage-loving folks around here, no rockabilly hipster scene, no nothing. But we have hippies. Dirty, stinking college hippies. The WORST kind of hippy known to man.and
Men should never, under any circumstances, wear sandals. This also applies to hippies and their Birkenstocks, who also should never wear them in the winter with socks. You know what? No one should wear Birkenstocks. Men's feet are the second ugliest thing on their bodies and should not, under any circumstances, be on display in open-toed footwear.
No context needed, funny no matter what.

I Totally Agree
Kim, over at The Girl Can't Help It once again has a killer post.
This time we are talking reality shows and yes, I also admit that Rock of Love is like crack.
Of course, I keep hoping that Brent's hat and wig will get pulled off during some booze infused chick fight.
You never know.

Rock Of Love is my crack and Daisy you are one crazy ass loon. Bret Michaels, even though your show makes me want to take a shot of penicillin and a hot shower, why must you play with my emotions?Scary, "why do I watch this", crack....

Lesson Learned
Here is a hint.
After you take that Ambien, do not go online and shop or might end up bidding on items that you ALSO then turn around and BUY on Amazon.
You have been warned.

What I Woke Up To

A blanket tent, or you could say "boy fort" in my living room.
Now this would not have been that odd a few years ago, but Josh is
now 16. He even has his learner's permit. But last night he was
so bored after I went to bed that he built a tent AND he was
sleeping in it with the cats when I got up today.
It's actually pretty sweet and makes me nostalgic for that little boy.

Please Don't Eat Jebus's Head
I've have always marveled at the crap religious stuff that is out there in "bible book stores".
It all seems slightly creepy to have Christian mints with bible passages or little Mass kits for kids to play with.
As always the folks over at Cracked.com have taken my shudder meter and made me laugh with the list is of 20 Tacky Religious Products Guaranteed to Anger God.
The list is has such gems as Grow Your Own Buddha, Teen Witch Kit and the Ten Plagues of Egypt Toy.
#14 is just wrong:

#1 is a dog nativity set:

I think eating a chocolate Jesus this Easter just might cross that "piss off God" line.As you're no doubt aware, the most common complaint about nativity scenes is they're too prejudiced against non humans. After all, who are the dogs supposed to pray to?
Luckily, some intrepid inventor out there took a stand and made the Dog Nativity Scene featuring Mary, Joseph, some wise men and the Messiah Himself, all as partially clothed canines. It's blaspheming fun for the whole family, assuming your family enjoys dodging angry thunderbolts and plagues.
Good Times....

Is Your Best Friend a Psycho
My friend Ang thought I needed to take a look at the cards over on Roger That! Laboriously Handmade Cards.
How did she know (except she knows my sense of humor and has spent many hours laughing at the LOLcats with me over on icanhascheeseburger whilst talkin' on the phone) I would find them so LOLROTFLOMG!!!1111!!!!!! and all that.
She was right.
I dig 'em.
Seriously, they are right up my alley with cards like "Happy Holidays from ASSHOLEVILLE!"
and "Is Your Best Friend a Psycho?" and a ton of cards with MCM furniture* on them.
There are boobie! cards, and glam vintage gal cards and bizzare "what the hell does this mean" cards and oh, yes Jesus cards.
And most of them have little gems written next to them, like this:
Here’s where reading all these damn card descriptions actually pays off. The police use the following test on suspects to see if they’re dealing with a psychopath. It’s a REAL TEST. REALLY.
Call your best friend and casually tell it the following anecdote:
Maggie is at her mother's funeral. She meets George. They go out a few times, and she falls madly in love with him, but George seems indifferent and finally stops returning her calls. Maggie kills her sister.
Now here's the test: ask your potentially psycho best friend, "Why did Maggie kill her sister?"
If your friend retorts, "Well, OBVIOUSLY because she wants to see George again," then your best friend is, indeed, a psycho.
See.
Jesus, that is brilliant!
So I ordered a set of "Glam" cards for a "Secret Santa" gift and also picked up some of the Xmas cards to give to my bitches (they know who they are).
I'll let ya know what I think when they get here, but I'm pretty sure that the Roger That! folks will be raking in more of my money in the near future.
*A category that has a long paragrah explaining just "why" there are so damn many furniture cards. Who cares? Cards with Danish Modern Furniture on them are made of awesome in my book.

You Rock, JKR!!!

I'm sure you already know, but Dumbledore was teh Gay!
JKR has spoken.
I always thought he was a bit too broken up about Grindenwald turning out to be an Evil Overlord Wanna Be.
In the end this is made of awesome.
Fandom has exploded.
The gay haters are all stirred up.
The slashers are unhappy that the canon gay is an old, wrinkled dude.
And there is a shiny new, huge thread over on Fandom_wank with lots of links to the wank.
This on LJ is a hoot, I am very entertained.

LOL Cat Sunday
This week I bring you Lolsecretz.

Need I say more?
"Lolsecretz is the meeting of two of the internet's most famous memes– PostSecret (the blog where people anonymously confess their deepest darkest secrets) crossed with Lolcat Macros (the phenomenon where people ascribe poorly spelled human emotions to animals). Enjoy!"

Need I say more?

Good Times

This article over at Radar Magazine about the worst toys of all time had me and my hubby in stitches.
My favorite was, of course, the most awesome toy of all time; Lawn Darts.
Removable parts? Suffocation risk? Lead paint? Pussy hazards compared to the granddaddy of them all. Lawn Darts, or "Jarts," as they were marketed, would never fly in our current ultra-paranoid, safety-helmeted, Dr. Phil toy culture. Lawn darts were massive weighted spears. You threw them. They stuck where they landed. If they happened to land in your skull, well, then you should have moved. During their brief (and generally awesome) reign in 1980s suburbia, Jarts racked up 6,700 injuries and four deaths.
I loved jarts.
The best toys are always the most dangerous.
Good times.

I am now all about Crying, While Eating. Funny, funny, funny. I love some of the reasons they are crying.
What he's crying about:
Parenthood like being pecked to death by small chickens
What he's crying about:
Poor chain letter etiquette has induced bad luck
What he's crying about: Not omnipotent I think I'll cry about the last one too.
DAMN I want to be omnipotent or at least an evil overlord....
then I could have minions.
I like minions.
As my friend Ang says: "Minions are good."
I would even provide them with a 401K and hats...or at least coffee mugs.

A way to waste time, YSL, Harry Potter, Milk and the Amazon reviews
I'm wasting time when I should be working.
A YSL jacket post on a vintage clothing board got me googling YSL collections, YSL 80's, ect.(why don't these older design houses have their previous collections online...what a great thing that would be!)
All this googling led me to Amazon and forced me to click on a Milk listing (yes milk) that I had just clicked last night from a link on fandomwank.com and read the reviews.
~snort~
I had forgotten how funny they can be.
I once read a review on Amazon for a birch wood cutting board left by a Bellatrix Lestrange, resident of Azkaban in the United Kingdom, stating that the "board was nice for cutting up muggles, but can be a bit slippery".
There was the whole Anne Rice wank when she decided to write (with no paragraph breaks) a long rant against her reviewers (who are just folks who have bought her books for the most part) who said her books pretty much sucked after Queen of the Damned...which they did.
So for some giggles go read the reviews for Tuscan Milk on Amazon.
