I also think the writers learned a lesson from the finale of Battle Star Gallactica.
While I enjoyed it and was satisfied my one quibble with BSG was that the need to answer every question gave us an ending that was more then we needed and not as character driven as the show itself had been.

You just can't answer all the questions.

I completely agree with you and your post yesterday. I was satisfied with the end, and vindicated - I had thought sideways world was a purgatory of a wishful kind for them all. And ultimately, it was about jack's journey and the people, not the island. A Hurley/Ben spin-off would be magical and hysterical - especially if they can get Niles back to the island, hahaha. What the heck am I going to do with my Tuesday nights now!!
